Coach Christen bio

Christen Williamson is from a small town in South Carolina, and definitely was not raised around healthy eating and exercise. She was taught how to fry chicken and make homemade biscuits before the age of 12. This was and still is the culture of the south. They will deep fry butter and eat it before they will even consider touching tofu or humus.

She began her career in the medical field as a Lab Technician working in Microbiology at the Regional Medical Center where she remained for nearly 18 years. Although it was an interesting job, she wanted something more for her future. Her love for food and fitness is what led to a bachelor’s degree in health and Wellness, then multiple certifications and specializations followed.

My blog

If you are at a loss on where to start with your fitness journey, this is for you!

Eating healthy and exercising are often associated for a reason. They are both linked to long term health and fitness. But what comes first? It’s not always the same story for everyone, but in my case it was exercising.

Changing how you eat is difficult. It is a habit you have learned over time through upbringing and your culture. A poor diet of sugar filled and processed foods is sadly very common in America today. In fact, it can become an addiction that is worse than crack cocaine, and that’s not even an exaggeration. Just ask anyone who has been diagnosed with type II diabetes, and now they are being forced to give up that addiction. They now have to choose between immediate gratification that will inevitably lead to their early demise and eating a healthy diet. For some people it seems like an easy decision to make, but for that person struggling it’s like they’re giving up their drug of choice.

So, what can you do? Giving up a habit is extermely hard to do. It’s easier to add a habit than to give one up. Adding exercise into your routine is a great place to start. But why? Well, for starters building muscle helps to lower your blood glucose levels. Also, once you get into working out you are less likely to overindulge in naughty foods because you don’t want to waste that hard work you’ve put in.

How do you start? Very slowly, and with the help of a professional. Giving up all your comfort foods at one time will only set you up for failure. In the beginning, it will feel unnatural, overwhelming and impossible, but you are worth it. You are capable of doing hard things, and your life is worth the work it’s going to take.

Working Out Together

Exercise improves energy, self confidence, mood and overall health and wellness in your life.

Working out is important, but it’s just a small percent of what it takes to get to a new lifestyle.

It takes months, even years of consistency. Too many people give in right before they reach a breakthrough. Investing in a coach is imperative to reach long term goals. When you invest in a coach, you invest in your future.

Sure, you could try to tackle it solo and play a guessing game with your mistakes. But why squander precious hours poking around in the dark when you can sit back and let someone else take the reins and get it done twice as fast?

Why wander aimlessly around a gym, feeling like a lost lamb, and skip out on essential exercises because you're unsure? Leave the guesswork behind and let a pro guide you to your peak potential.
